First-year Pacific University cross country and track and field coach Matt Lydum has added two full-time coaches to his team.

FOREST GROVE — Pacific University athletic director Ken Schumann has announced that Matt Lydum has been selected as the new leader of the Boxer cross country and track and field programs.

Pacific's women's track and field became one of 170 women's teams to boast a team cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher and one of five NWC women's programs to earn the national honor.

A total of 943 student-athletes were recognized across the Northwest Conference.

KING OF JUMPS: It was clear coming into the season that Budweiser Hawkins would be a potential point scorer and Northwest Conference champion in the jumps. What no one expected, however, was how well everything would turn out.
